ununoriginalhave just completed the first leg of the enjoyable process of savouring lord of the rings: return of the king (the extended edition), ie. i've watched it once, and then i watch it ANOTHER time with the cast commentary :p (am not pedantic enough to sit thru the other commentaries - i've tried ^_~) still have got the appendices to go. aahhhhh... there will always be one scene, or another moment, or a certain look - but everytime i watch the trilogy again - there never fails to be something that touches me emotionally, depending on wat's happening in my life at that moment. that's why it's always going to be my favourite-st movie of all time.
the part that gets me the most - at the end of rotk when they're at the grey havens, and frodo steps onto the ship and turns back to look at them one final time. that smile he gives them then - that's how i'd like to look at the end of my life.
