project <走了走了走了>: phase 1 complete!
Mar. 26th, 2006 09:51 pmthis is ununoriginal, updating her lj from her new home across the street, where the room is bigger, the rent is lower, and she doesn't have to pay for her own sundry items like toilet paper and detergent :)
moving took place yesterdae, and wasn't without its hiccups. i had the help of a few frens and a car, but jus as we were going to set out, the skies opened and down came a thunderstorm, which is SO typical of murphy. after all the lugging around of boxes and assorted pieces of furniture and bedding, we learnt an important lesson for future reference, ie. try to avoid seeking lodging in apartments on non-lift-landings.
the other weird lesson of the day was tat, inexplicable as it may seem, there is a REASON for ppl buying key chains when they go travelling. because it turns out that a key chain is one of the HARDEST THINGS TO FIND in a typical HDB neighbourhood.
in conclusion, thanks very very much to the 'movers' of the day - q and her bf, and yw - for their help. owe u one, guys!
