building a dream for myself
Jan. 3rd, 2007 11:02 pmso i have this lovely fren who is working as an AD for this tv prog on channel 8 called 'career blueprints', and for her sake, i have resumed watching a mandarin programme broadcasted on this largely mediocre channel after years and years of boycotting it.
aniwae this programme features various individuals who have given up their high-paying jobs to venture into another field/profession which is less stable in income and very liable to garner strong opposition/cursing from parents/family, all because it's something they have always wanted to do. it's their passion, and despite the longer hours, blood, sweat, tears and rejection, it makes them happy doing it.
this 1st ep showcased 2 ppl, and something the accountant-who-started-a-cooking-school said really resonated with me: "i'm not working on somebody else's dream. i'm building my own dream, for myself."
