me and kato go a long way back

i've finally torn myself away long enuff from the glut of j-ent variety shows to finish watching another j-drama, ブスの瞳に恋してる!  and i loved it!  it's a typical love story but with not-so-typical characters, funny yet with its moments of minor tragicness, and left me with an even greater respect for comedians.  'turn ur tragedies into a joke, so u and everyone else can laugh at it' - tat was one of the tag lines tat i liked.  granted, i've lived a fairly blessed life, so i can't exactly say i've met with horrible tragedies, but there have definitely been horribly embarrassing let-me-dig-a-hole incidents tat subsequently become funny after-dinner stories to be shared with others.  which is always way better than gnawing at it in solitude and moping away bt it.

apart from the unconventional female lead, and the equally adorable man who plays her dad - god, their faces and expressions are PRICELESS - i have been inexplicably zapped by the AMAZINGNESS of kato shigeaki!!  he basically has this supporting bit part in the show, but every time he appears on screen, my eyes are jus GLUED to him.  his hair, his face, his eyes, his clothes, his height, his cute frown, his little exasperated smile (i never said i wasn't superficial :p)

and it's totally inexplicable cuz i've seen him countless times before in other performances and concerts with NEWS, but it never ever hit me tat he could be attractive (also, i'm mildly disturbed cuz i'm perving after a guy who's the same age as my sis, like erm... hmm...)
